How To Become A YouTube Star

It was definitely much easier to become a successful YouTuber when YouTube was created in 2005.  Today, you have to deal with the fact that whatever your niche is, every day there are hundreds of people talking about the same thing. You have to stand out among the many competitors and ensure that each video always has the highest quality.

So, what does it mean to be a YouTuber and what skills you need to be a successful one.

A YouTuber is someone who is active on the platform and posts videos regularly, has followers to watch their content and makes money off YouTube.

What Skills Do You Need To Become A YouTuber?

1. Understand The YouTube Platform

You should know the basics of YouTube. You want to know how to shoot videos, upload and optimize your videos to get more views and subscribers.

2. Is That What You Really Want?

You have to enjoy what you are making. Don’t expect to be famous overnight. Is your main focus to make money on YouTube? Are you willing to put in time and effort to help build your brand on YouTube? You have to enjoy helping people, offer them free advice and build a community around your brand.

3. Good Research Skills

You should have strong research skills that can help you consistently develop new video ideas and topics.

4. Video Editing Skills

Video editing takes a lot of time. Many YouTubers use much more time editing than filming. This is the name of the game. On my first channel “NoSteroids”, it usually takes around 6 hours to film, edit, optimize and upload a video on YouTube. Some YouTubers take days to edit/create their videos.

5. Personalize Your Content

Try to give your viewers a personal touch so that they can recognize and appreciate your ideas. Don’t be ‘me too.’ You have to differentiate yourself, or you will get lost in the crowd. More than 5 billion videos are watched on YouTube on daily basis.

6. YouTube Analytics – What the numbers are telling you?

You should be able to know who are your target audience, how viewers engage with your content, what are the main sources of traffic, etc. Try your best to check your statistics on a daily basis.

7. Brand and Market Yourself

Treat yourself as a product that needs to be sold to the right target group. You have to be unique and interesting to attract new audiences.

8. Social Media Awareness

YouTube is one of the social media platforms, and you should know how to use other platforms like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram if you want to increase your reach and spread your message to as many people as you can.

9. Engage With Your Followers & Keep Them Excited

You should know that your fans and followers are the main driving factor for your success on YouTube. It’s a good idea to interact with them through using live videos or offering them free giveaways.

10. Stay Updated

Every now and then there are some YouTube updates and enhancements. You should stay updated and upgrade your knowledge to know how to use the new features and react to the platform changes.

Some content creators consider YouTube to be their main job, while others simply value it as a recreational talent. Learn new skills and tactics every day to become a good YouTuber.

You should keep trying, even if you do not see the result that you were expecting. It is only a matter of time. We faced this when we started out.

      Hello Jemirah,

Of course you can make money on YouTube and this has nothing to do where do you live. It’s all about who will be your target audience and what are you going to talk about in your channel.
